Reiki is the channelling of universal energy and can assist you to feel better in all aspects of your life. It is a safe, non-intrusive, hands on, complementary therapy used to harmonise, balance and heal all manner of dis-ease in your body, mind, spirit and emotions. It is important to point out that Reiki is not a replacement for western medicine and was never intended to be used as a method to diagnose serious health complaints. It is however a beautiful companion to western medicine as it works to move energy, freeing us to recognise, acknowledge and seek to heal what ails us on more than just the physical level. Reiki is a method of self-healing. We get out what we put in.
Reiki.
There are many variations of Reiki being practiced in the West today. Some practitioners have learnt systems of Reiki such as Usui, Seichim, Jikiden, Karuna, or Lightarian Reiki, yet others have come through training systems that incorporate massage, intuitive readings or angel messaging to Reiki treatments. Despite these differences, some of which can appear quite considerable, the energy of Reiki remains the same. In all its forms Reiki is one of the most effective and gentle methods of stress reduction, emotional healing and personal growth.
At Oakwood Reiki I practice the Usui System of Natural Healing. During a treatment you can expect to spend around one hour on the table, fully clothed and wrapped in a warm blanket while I gently place my hands on or over the head and body. There is no pressure, massage or manipulation just a gentle channelling of universal energy. During a treatment people express feeling a wide range of emotions from joy and contentment to the release of pain and sadness. Some people experience physical healing whilst others fall into a deep, rejuvenating sleep, everybody’s experience is different. In some cases the energy of Reiki is not immediately felt however the person experiences the benefits of it in their own time. At the end of the treatment there is time to discuss your experiences before heading back out into the world.
